About Kazmain

Kazmain, also known as Kadhimain or Al-Kadhimiya, is a district in Baghdad, Iraq, renowned for its religious and historical significance. It is home to the Al-Kadhimayn Shrine, which houses the tombs of the seventh and ninth Shia Imams, Imam Musa al-Kadhim and Imam Muhammad al-Jawad. The city is a major pilgrimage site for Shia Muslims worldwide. Kazmain is characterized by its vibrant marketplaces, historic mosques, and cultural importance in the Shia Islamic world. Despite the city’s historical and spiritual importance, it has also seen periods of political and sectarian unrest, given its location in Iraq.
